Is this an S2000 or S+ machine?

A friend of mine owns the machine pictured below.  Is this an S+ or an S2000?

Since I am a complete newbie to this generation of IGT slot, could this be converted to a Home Run and what would be needed?  Glasses, reel strips, EPROMs?

Is there an option to have a bill validator on this kind of slot?

All help appreciated.

That's an old s+ machine. When they had bill validators they were mounted on the outside of the cabinet. And yes, it could be converted to a homerun, but you'd need everything you had listed. Glass, reel strips and eproms

Most of the Home Run glass I see available is 3 coin.  His top box has a two line glass.  Is it easy to convert from a 2-line glass to a 3-line glass?  I know the glass would just swap out but what about the lighting behind it?  Doesn't it progressively light the next step as you insert each coin?

BTW, does anyone have Home Run reel strips available?

Your friends machine is a 2 coin game with a single line reel glass.
Home run is a single line game regardless of whether or not it's a 2 coin game or a 3 coin game.
In fact, it's actually a "Buy-A-Pay" game.
As far as I know, it only comes in two version - 2CBP or 3CBP.

It is just one lamp behind the glass, no progressive lighting.

Easy swap to do once you find the glass, strips and chips. That is all you need provided it is a working machine now.

That would be a excellent mod lighting up the individual buy-a-pay sections of the award glass...
However, I do not believe there are any compatible SP chips that would do that for the Home Run game?

the price for that kit is a bit high....I would have paid no more than $50 for it really...especially since it does NOT include the strips or chips.

Also the glass from that seller is usually not that great. You need to look really close at it.

It is just one lamp behind the glass, no progressive lighting.

Some of the original S+ games (and I suspect that Robert's friend has one of those) actually did have shadow boxes in the top box to light up the "1st Coin" and "2nd Coin" sections of the paytable, and the lights would come on as the appropriate number of coins were inserted.

Robert- Chances are that your friend will have to forget about that functionality for the Home Run game kit and possibly remove that light bar when they install the kit.  It doesn't affect gameplay -- it's just there for aesthetic purposes.  The "Coins In" display to the right of the reel glass should show the number of coins accepted as he plays.
