Screen starts to go dark after its been on for a while, if you let it cool it comes back up until it gets warmed up. Is it the power supply? I found one on e bay, is it the correct one?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320664569471&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1156

Or do I need something else,

Thanks!

Cry Laughing   I put this in the wrong forum, should have been reel slots, can someone move it?

When you say that it 'starts to go dark' are you saying that the screen starts fading away, or that it just goes out (like a light switch turned off)?

If it's fading, is the fading even around the screen?  How long does it take to go from fading to completely dark?

Yes, that listing is for the Dotmation power supply, but I'm not positive that's your issue (it might be, but I've never actually heard of your issue before).

Same supply is $19.95 (Brand New) at www.mpja.com
Can this be the 12 volt supply? Yes....
BUT! the 12 volts powers a high voltage inverter in the top box.
 ***  DO YOURSELF A FAVOR  ***

Put a fan in the topbox! I don't know what the F@!* the WMS boys were thinking!
Put a 9 Amp 12 volt supply inside a box, then put that box inside ANOTHER box!!!
Take a chassis punch and put a hole in BOTH ends of the box and a small fan at one end.
END of thermal problems and you will never have to replace that supply again.....

Can be the power supply or the DOT board.  I am going to lean towards the DOT Mation board being the issue but as they warm up they draw more power so going with replacing the power supply is a good start.    You can use an ATX computer power supply or just buy a video game power supply that supplys 12+.

I you need one I have a few smaller ATX style ones that would work as well.

Just send me a PM.

Thanks for all the help so far!

I checked it this morning and had it running for about 15 minutes, it worked fine. The other day I had it on for about 5 hours, then I started to get the problem until it just went black and stayed black until I shut it down and let it cool a bit.

I think it may be a heat problem as KirkLasVegas says.

I think I will try and put a small fan in the top. But if it gets worse I will replace the power supply

I agree, vent the heat for sure and if you can move the current PS to inside the top rather than inside the DOT box.

Easier to just replace the current one over moving it.
