I have a S+ machine, and have played it 100,000's  times according to the counter.  with about 10 different games.  i always switch my games to change the mood of my room. when i buy my games i always get the highest % pay out one.
 NOW MY PROBLEM    i have never heard the jackpot bell ring, nor have i never got a BIG jackpot pay out    what gives, am i unlucky or is this how a slot machine works..... don't you think this machine should treat me better, after all i polish  it dayly, keep the glass clean, and feed it quaters on a regular diet

Well, for starters...lol
You've pulled the handle about a 100,000 times right?
Most chips are designed to hit a certain amount of Jackpots within 1 million pulls.
So, with that in mind, I'd say you have about 900,000 more pulls to go....

Secondly, with the proper PAR sheet in your hand (which matches the SS chip you're using)
you can determine how many Jackpots there are -
but you cannot determine when they will happen. 

Finally, you may NEVER EVER hit a Jackpot payout in your lifetime...
it all depends on your luck!

Slot math is a bit confusing but the basics are:

Internal to the chip you have a table of winning combinations.
When you spin the reels 3 numbers are chosen at random
If they correspond with the winning combination you get a payout.

The difference between a 98% chip and a 95% chip is that the 98% table has more entries in it.
So the PROBABILITY of hitting a winning combination is higher.

The slot is completely random - there is NO forcing of these winning percentages its just the law of averages.
Here is an example.

If you consider flipping a coin 5 times - it is POSSIBLE that heads comes up everytime. if you flip it 1000 times it is POSSIBLE that heads comes up every time.
is it probable --- NO, it is LIKELY that you will get some tails. Exactly how many ?????? If you flip it 10,000,000 (10 million) times it is likely that close to 5mil will be heads and 5 will be tails.

The slot is the same - with the exception that you have a populated table with different winning values for different combinations and of course only 1 of those combinations is the top award.

I have 3 slots and a video poker - have had them for about 6 years.  I have never hit a top award. We have hit a couple of second level wins but never the top.

     i thought the bell was broke......do you know how big my arm will be after pulling it 1,000,0000 times.   than find out i have to give myself a check for the winnings..... thanks for the positive information... it is no wonder those casions are of nice......back to work

For what it's worth, you could change the hopper limit so that you hit a "jackpot" when you hit a pay combination that's smaller than the top most award.  Then you'd be able to hear the machine lock up and your jackpot bell ring.

It also depends on what games you loading into your machine. If it is 10-Times Pay or 5-Times pay than the chances of hitting a jackpot are much harder. If your playing games like Sizzling 7's or say, Hurricane, than you chances are very good and you should have hit a top award by now.
Another note, I believe most games, not all, have the same chance of hitting the top award wether the chip is 98% or 88% and everything in between. It's the middle hits like bars and sevens that are increased in the higher paying chips.
