what kind of IGT machine does this board come out of?

We went to a service call where the customer swore he had a PE+ multi-game poker.

The game was a multi game, it had a 19" monitor, a 19" TOUCH SCREEN monitor.

The error message was "low battery" so we took the board back to the shop to replace the battery (read, my partner forgot the soldering iron).

The machine is a IGT but we still don't know what kind of IGT machine it is.

Attached is a picture of the MPU board, any idea what kind of machine this is and do we need a special chip to get it back up when we bring it back tomorrow?

Looks like a Game King board to me. I would take a Key 040 with me.  Key 17 may work, I'm not sure.   How the hell you been?    Tell your boss he needs to make a donation to this site.

Yea looks like an 039 video board to me, definately not a PE+

Its not a 3902 board. its even earlier than the 035 board. Probably the very 1st version of  the GameKing/igame  board.

Ya, it must be a very early version, I asked a slot sales shop and they didn't know what it came out of and they had a couple Game Kings.

I wouldn't bet a whole lot of money on it, but I'm pretty sure it's a 3502.

yep it sure looks like what we call an "original Game King" board.  we had a bank of 6 of these big ass 19" CRT cabinets that the old slot manager just loved to move around the floor every few months; the damn games were huge, probably weighed more than the two guys it took to load them onto the handcart.  sure was a sad day in our shop when we wheeled them off the floor for good....

Ha! For us it was a bank of 10 P&M hump-backs.

One day some stranger approaches the owner and tells him that for $5,000 he would show him how to cheat them.

He musta showed him because the next day they were all gone.

For those not in the know (like me!), what is a P&M hump-back?

A "hump-back" is what we called Slant Top machines.

P&M Coin Company was owned by Pete Mandis. His concept of board design was to put everything on one BIG board
and not to use any green solder mask to cover the traces.

He claimed the design of the escalating hopper concept and when Bally started using it (stole it) he sued Bally
and actually won the lawsuit years later.

I have seen some of his boards be as big as 3' x 3' with a single edge connector.

i don't think it looks like a 3802 board, components aren't in the correct positions on the board.   but it's been awhile since i had a 3802 board in my hands so i will defer to someone with more recent experience.  do you have one to look at buddy?

I have a board just like this one and I thought that I had identified it as a 3802 until I saw this, now I'm questioning my model. (See Attached)

Mark  It looks like a 3802 board to me, but I'm the one that said 3502.  We all know I never know what I'm talking about. Looking at my key board the 5 is right below the 8, did I just hit the wrong number, I don't know. 

I have 7 spare boards that look just like these two pictures, 4 of them say ASS# 7570380, 3 are ASS# 7570350.   ONE HAS A SMALL STICKER    75703508 REV A 12/96

Out of curiosity is there a reason for you needing the board number ??

Just trying to help answer their questions, nothing else. And yes I thing there was xxxx350x boards before the 3802's. I think you are certainly showing that with your boards.

I've looked for threads on upgrading to a 3902 but couldn't find any. I did find some info saying it's just plug and play, is that true? Is it just as easy as swaping the MPU board (with new software of course)?

They use the same mother board, So yes plug and play.

Like Buzz said, you should be set to go! One thing to watch for possibly is that the black guide that I suggested that the other poster remove to check for his part number may be slightly different on a 3902 vs. a 3802. The guide pins were usually a slightly different diameter in the different machine models. If the board will not seat properly, all you have to do is remove the guide or use the one from the 3802 board, but your picture did not show one. It is no big deal without that little guide, you just want to insert the board carefully and not force anything. Let us know how your upgrade goes, and just ask if you have any more questions!

Boy nothing gets by me, well sometimes it does take 3 or 4 days to remember some sh*t.

Year and a half maybe two years ago Blueridge posted some pictures of the metal MPU trays  3802 and 3902 boards use different trays.

that board is the first gameking board after the multipokers pe+ , you can change that board for the 039 and it will work fine in the machine i have several machines with that board the only problem of that board is that you cant put video reel games on it only gameking multigame
