I have a S+ 3C 1line triple play that was working fine and then it started to have a fast bell sound ringing in pulses.  No codes or lights the machine just quits working while the bell pulses. I can open the door and turn the power off/on and when I put some money it starts with the bell pulsing again.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Did you try to re-seat the MPU? Often a bad connection on some pins can cause odd things.

Changed the MPU and the power suppy connector.  The machine would play until I hit a win and then the machine would freeze and start with the rapid intermittant bell.

Sounds like there is a bad connection to the bell or that there is too much current draw on ring. Or a short.

Is it set to ring on those wins or is it ringing when it's not supposed to? Is this a mechanical bell, or the ding ding ding sound it always makes? If it's a mechanical bell, what happens if you unplug it?

It is not set to ring on the regular wins.  It is the machanical bell, I will unplug the bell to see what happens.  Not sure why the machine started doing this is there a wqay to see if somehow the bell was activated o ring on all winn?  I have a 1271 chip for the game.

Press the self test a few times until you have 0 in the coins played and 5_0, 5_1, or 5_2 in the win meter. Turn the reset key once and you should have 0 in the coins played and 6_0 or 6_1 in the win meter. That is the bell ring setting. Press spin button to change it if necessary. Need to have no credits on the machine to make changes.

If that doesn't get you there, look at this thread. On step 3 turn the reset key until you get there.

Setting was  6-0 , somehow the 5-0 was set to 5-1 so that everytime I hit any win the hopper would try to payout.  I changed the codes to 5-0 and 8-1 that way when I got a win, credits would build.  Now when I hit the cashout button, with credits builtup, the bell would ring and the machine would lockup until I turned the reset key.  I thought the game chip might be bad and changed the game chip and problem fixed.  Thanks for all the help guys!
