What are these for ?

I saw these on an auction website...does anyone know exactly what these are for and how to use them?

Those are S slot progressive driver boards according to the Liberty Bell S & S+ slot book (could be a typo by the figure and schematic in the book)

Drawing of board on 8-5
Schematic on 9-8
Player display schematic on 9-7

They also can be used in the S+ as progressive driver board.
If you have the Liberty Bell S and S+ slot book the schematic is in there.
The parts on the board also can be used to repair the S+ player display.

I built one from the schematic in the book I mentioned and it worked. uses common cathode LED's
In fact before I built one I tested the idea with a spare player display as a test progressive display just connected it to the top box connector.
Looked funny with the value split between the Winner paid and Credits Window though.

I felt comfortable experimenting to see if it would work, as some say kids do not try this at home (my disclaimer)

To use them as a progressive you need the LED board 7 or 8 digit uses same LED display as the newer S+ progressive driver board.
John also has the newer progressive drivers as well.
I not sure if he has any of the LED parts for them though.

I think what you're saying is that these will drive the 20-pin progressive LED displays,
 but will NOT drive the 20-pin progressive dot matrix displays right?

Also, the LED test display you made...you stuck it behind the reel glass where "Winner paid" and "Credits" is?

No it was a temporary test, I was just testing the theory that the parts used on the Player display and the S Slot progressive driver are the same and would work as a progressive driver board

Yes, the 20 pin 7 segment LED's  common cathode right hand decimal .43 inches high.

For those interested grab one of the Liberty Bell S and S+ slot book from eBay if any are still on there.
