I am new to this and just purchased a universal stars and stripes.  It says on the side that it is Universal Australia.  It is in good condition but the reels do not seem to be in the right place.  when i run the test mode it says red whit blue or bar bar bar and the reel does not match up to that.   I have tried to physically move the real, but it does not seem to work.  Can someone tell me what i need to do to set the reels correctly.

thanks

PS and other general info is appericated

The Universal Australian machines are much different than the U.S. models and I've never worked on one.
Sounds like either the reel strips are not located at the right spot on the reel or maybe the reels are in the wrong location.

Sorry for the late response!
No you do not need coins in the hopper for the LED's to work.
Need to know what platform you have. This sounds like an Ultra Series problem. Stars & Stripes were on multiple platforms.

Does your machine have lights behind the reels, backlit?
Does it say Ultra Series on the reel glass?

A pic sure would help!

Ok, I saw your pics you sent me. Yours is the older platform, 8116 or maybe an 8800.
You say there is an error 32, so the LED's must be working as there is a flashing 32, right? Is the TILT light on (lower left reel glass)
A few different things can cause error 32.
Assuming you have owned this machine for some time and it was working until error 32; check the hopper for a coin stuck right where it exits the hopper. There is a little roller that goes up each time a coin passes by, if it has a coin stuck under it you get error 32.
After inspecting the hopper and putting it back in the machine, power up the machine and press the yellow reset.
If that doesn't work, do a RAM clear. You need to pull the coin tray to access the the RAM clear switch on the MPU board. Little hole at bottom in the middle. There is a small black button in there, press it and hold it in while powering up the machine, hold for a few seconds and release.
Let us know how it turns out.
