Hi everyone, So far I have fixed about two of these S5000's and I know what to look for now, bad PS, acid damage. Anyway, I am trying to get this machine to boot up and nothing seems to work ! I have tried three or four different MPU's and several I/O boards. They all result in the same problem, no boot and just random garbage on the display. no reel sputter or spins. I checked my power supply and it is right about @ 5Volts. It should be noted that most of these MPU's I have been trying were acid damaged but I cleaned them real good and reseated all the IC's. Now what I am wondering is will a completely dead OEM type battery cause the entire thing to not boot ?? Seems strange that it would, but figured I would ask.

The V5500's have to have a good battery to boot.
They come up with a screen full of garbage.
So I would think that the 5000's would need the same.
