I just wanted to to ask for your opinion -  At least in my limited 3 dimensional view - here on the east coast of the USA  most casinos are moving towards bally and wms with fewer and fewer IGT machines.

It's almost like the amazing disappearing company

I feel extremely blessed and lucky to be one of the first people to own a new bally alpha machine and all I can say is WOW

I think IGT wasted all their R&D on server based machines and they have gone over like a lead balloon -
now it's too little too late and they are playing some serious catch up

Now keep in mind -  like I said I only have 50 casinos in my area so it's only a  limited perspective

I want to say that agree with the shift out here and how bad IGT is falling
behind in machine design ( I love the new WMS machines) but IGT has way
too much money to die...

Some executive will finally open their eyes and see that they've been going
in the wrong direction just as their worth in the stock market hits rock bottom.

I love that fact that someone at Bally saw back in the 80's & 90's that their pinball machines were not going to keep them alive and started making slot machines.

By the way, Williams had great shuffle board and pinball machines too!

I spent  last night at the Edgewater Laughlin and didn't see any shortage of IGT machines. Between the Game Kings, I Games, WOF, and the S 2000 I'd say about half of the total machines were IGTs.  They still have the BBs by the front door in case anyone wants to crash the party!!

When is the last time you saw a Game Maker in a Casino ??

The WOF game is going to be the ONLY game that IGT will have
left on casino floors if they don't come up with any better ideas soon.

I recall some threads about things heading toward server based. But why are they not going over well?

One thing to remember about Laughlin is that it's a backwater town. I would think that the strip properties in Vegas would be the first to get the newest machines and to rotate out old stock, and hence the places to look to get an idea of current trends. As always, I could be wrong.

It seems to me that Wms has always been a more innovative company than the rest. If Bally is making a comeback with its newer machines, I'm glad to hear it. propeller

Riverside Casino in Laughlin has a few of the new GameMakers. Nice machines. But they are far & few right now.

I think IGT will survive. But if they get too weak maybe they could merge with another company. In fact I'm surprised there hasn't been any big mergers or acquisitions in the last few years. Must be that uncertain economy.
Ballys seems to be really making a comeback. They were just hiring production employees in Vegas. Aristocrat is holding it's own and WMS is surging too. Artonic and Konami seem to be flat right now.

Oh yeah, Aruze has dipped it's feet in the US market. They absorbed Universal back in 2001. Their machines are different, but have too much of a Japanese flavor for me. Don't see them making it.

OK David I will be at the Reo Las Vegas daylight Monday morning for a Carnival ride. I'll go a little early and go in and look around.  ( I've never been in the Reo )

I own LasVegasSands in my portfolio.
LVS

I also watch MGM, WYNN and Melco Crown.
Often there are stock articles that feature multiple casino stocks.

I would say that IGT and ShuffleMaster are the current stock market darlings.
Perhaps they are being hyped because of the lack of sales but that would show up in their earnings.
