I accidentally pressed the "Change" button with no coins in the machine. I never have had a 'tilt' on this machine. How do I clear a HPRE - Hopper Empty?  The Dotmation displays "Calling Attendant"

Thanks for the help.

Fill the hopper with coins so it can pay out the win.  It won't be happy until it pays out the amount of credits that were in the machine when you pressed the change button.

Is there no other way, such as using the jackpot key or diagnostic button??

sorry no.  Your only other option is to clear the memory of the machine with a clear chip.

IF you have more credits than available coins, you can leave the door open,  hold the door switch with one hand, and catch the coins with the other hand and constantly toss the caught coins back into the hopper.

Mike   You don't have to hold a cherry switch in, just pull it out one notch and it will stay there and make the machine think the door is closed.

Agree with Post

Indeed, you don't need to have hundreds of coins to do this -- about 15-20 coins or so should work just fine and as Mike said, just keep tossing them into the hopper until it has finished paying everything out.

...or you can call for the attendant, but you might be waiting a while.   arrow
