Hello, I am brand new to owning a slot machine, and very interested in refurbishing the one I just purchased.
One of the first things I noticed is, when the reels stop at any of the three pay out lines. The payout does not
Match any of the winning combinations. I am trying to find out how to sync the payout to the reels.
It is a three coin, one dollar machine.
Another observation, I noticed when I put a dollar into the bill acceptor it registers (4.)
Thank in advance for any help at all!!!!

First thing to check is make sure you have the right reel strips, there are many different Black White double
2nd, check to see that the reel strips are on the reels baskets properly, there is usually notch in the reel strip whick should alighn with a small tab in the basket
3rd check to see the reels 1 2 & 3 are in the correct position

Your other problem with a $1 showing 4 credits.... sound to me its set up for a 25 cent machine.

Is there just 1 pay line or 3 seperate lines ??

How? Shouldn't 3 single bars on the payline pay out 10 credits?
His display shows 3 dots and he is playing 3 credits with 20 credits to play with.

Maybe your right, I cant see the payout glass very well, I thought the 3 single bars = 20 credits. I think the reel strips may be placed in the wrong notches. I know my 6000 strips have two notches and they are usually in the second notch from the bottom of the strip.

I can see by that picture how it would look like it paid out.
It didn't. The 20 credits were left from previous play.

There are two notches in the strip and only one plastic notch on the reel.
I will try and reposition the strip to the second notch.

Thank you both very much for the suggestions. I will let you know how moving
the strip on the reels works.

I moved all three of the reel strips to the second notch.
Played until I hit three sevens (shown in the attached photo) No pay out ?
I hit a fourty credit pay out with no matching symbols on the reels.

Still not working correct.

Is this type of a problem something happens once in a while with slot machines ?

seems you may have incorrect reel strips, game chip or strips are on the wrong reels, See if you can post the strip #'s they are usually on the bottom or top of each strip, also post the game chip #'s.

Strip #'s are on the right reels, still not sure if they are the correct Black White Double strips. Seem like someone else had a similar problem. See link below

"Strip are NOS and line up perfectly. It's just the symbols on the strips do not match what my program thinks it  is.
While I was testing, It hit for a 2000 Hand pay. The only way to get to 2,000 is two red 7's and a double. However the strips show a non-winning combination.
Maybe these strips were for a 5 line machine?"

I hope this is the right board. As I said, I know nothing about slot machines.
This board was located directly under the reels.
I used to do a lot of work on computers, and know some about boards.

If this is the board. There are two chips that look newer than the others.

The numbers on these chips are:

1st chip
E617911X-05
U20
07/2793

2nd chip
E617911X-05
U1807/2793

They are the U18 & U20 chips but it looks like they may not be Black White Double from what I can see they are... Silver & Gold Luxor Chambers smi 6859 E617911-05  10,000 3CB. May be the game is the same format ??

You must check the number of your game chip.
On the front of the board : press and release the Test button until 01d appears in WIN PAID
Then 010d appears in WIN PAID and CREDIT shows the Personality EPROM identification number (4 digits).
Then, look in the list made by Wayne (BALLY S5500 AND S6000 SMI AND PART NUMBERS / First post in BALLY REEL GAMES)

I followed your directions. The numbers flip by pretty fast.
Test until 01d appears in win paid.
Then 010d appeared in Wind Paid.
Next numbers were 6179.

I wasn't able to find the 6179 alone. I found in within the E617911X-05
Chip numbers from the previous message.

Does it sound like I did it right ?

I think you have the wrong personality chip....Looks like this is the game chip you currently have.... Silver & Gold Luxor Chambers smi 6859 E617911-05  10,000 3CB.  The moderator Wayne a69mopar really now his stuff when it comes to Ballys, hopefully he will chime in.

Smi#6179 is not listed
B5srt is right, U18 & 20 are Silver & Gold, a 3CB - 10,000 - 1 Line
Your Black&White is a 3 Lines, it can't match.
I think it is best to get the right personality chip according to your theme.
Several Black&White of the Wayne's list have a top award 10,000 - some are 1-LINE , 3-LINES needed
Wayne will surely help you.

There should be a few people here that will be able to supply the correct chips but you will also need a set of clear chips too. Post an ad in the classified section.
