I am having problems with my IGT Triple stars machine. after machine boots up I get Closure MB Reel 5 Tilt and call attendant. I have replaced the original CPU board. The old one would not boot up at all.  I have done a clear and key chip procedure. Machine boots up and initializes. The 5th wheel rotates about 1/2 inch and stops and rest of reels rotate properly. all wires and connectors are fine. Has anyone else had this problem?

with the machine off, swap reel 5 with any other reel position and see if the problem follows the reel. If it stays with the #5 reel position you may have a door optics issue. If it follows the reel then you have a bad reel

Put the problematic 5th reel into the 4th reel slot and the 4th reel into the 5th reel slot.  Does the problem follow the reel or does the 5th reel still exhibit the problem no matter what reel is in slot 5?

Thanks

I have already done that. Same condition exists. I have swapped out power supply in addition.

I'm gonna bet on a door optis issue if you've moved reels and the issue stays with the 5th reel position. If you open and close the door do the reels try to reset?

yes the reels reset except 5th reel does not move. I have also changed out the door optiss.  Back in september the machine fell off the stand and the cpu board came out. I did reset all boards and connectors and machine ran fine untill now.

Other than an issue with the motherboard I can't think of what the problem might be. If your optics are good and aligned properly which would seem to be the case as it tries to reset the reels when you close the door, your reel is good as moving the reel and the problem stayed with the position indicates, you've checked all plugs and changed the MPU. The only other thing I would look at would be the reel harness plug to the motherboard and the reel plug that the #5 reel plugs into to make sure you've got solid connections there. I think we've covered about everthing else

New up date on my triple stars. I have replaced the mother board and the machine now is working properly. You still have to do a clear and key chip it before booting. Thanks for your help.

That's good to hear eferry!
Next time, bolt the machine down to the stand!  Tongue Out
