Hi,

Just got a new MPU for a Bally 6000...got home, put the board in and powered it up and saw "88FF" in the LED readout.

Bill acceptor wasn't working as board wasn't setup for a MARS acceptor, I set the dip switches (as shown in the Bally manual) for a MARS acceptor....Held down the Pseudo + Test buttons while powering it on as the manual says you need to perform a clear to reflect any change to dip switch settings. This clear was done using leave in mains and by flipping DS1 #8 over to "ON", holding down the Pseudo and Test buttons and powering the machine up (leaving door open), powering machine off and flipping DS1 #8 to "off" and powering the machine back on...The error is still present (88FF)..

So, I did a second clear and got rid of 88FF but I'm getting error 23 now. The software settings are setup for no coin, DBV only and no hopper, ticket only.
I'm able to advance the menu (using max bet button) but about halfway into the menu the LED's go blank and I hear 3 or 4 "clicks" that are coming from the part which would normally send coins to the hopper(?)...for lack of a better term, it's the metal flap below where the comparator would normally be. Machine has NO comparator ...It's a tito machine. The flap opens and closes several times every few minute.

One other thing to note, battery on board is new and everything was working when I departed the shop I bought it from (the machine used to test it had a different DBV) but everything worked as it should..

What should I try first??? Any suggestions? Checked all dip switches and even tried the original configuration from the old board but still no luck.

Thanks  Silly Me!

Also, The DBV doesn't light up the black plastic face on the 6000's door like it normally would, DBV is connected and green light is observed on DBV's head when door is open.

Update...Error code is "99 3" followed by the metal flap opening and closing by itself...

Problem resolved, game loaded and DBV came to life after another full clear. I tried a set of new dip settings from the bally manual and the rest is history Smiley

Yep! I got all the errors to disappear and everything runs fine  just like it should. A HUGE THANKS to John & Doug at Rudy's Deals for hooking me up with a new MPU  +1 (Karma, or whatever)...I better make more room because I'm thinking about some of those machines he has  CaptainHappy CaptainHappy CaptainHappy

I really like these S6000 Machines!! And the leave-in clear chips are DEFIANTLY worth the extra money and save you from a headache  +1 (Karma, or whatever).
