Hi All

An update from my last post on this topper (and I even spelled it right this time). I worked thru the wiring problems and routed the ribbon cables around the back side of the bulbs to prevent them from burning. I enclosed a pic. The small black rectangles I mentioned in the original post were probably heat sinks for the ribbon cables, because they were so close to the fl orescents. I powered the LEDs with 5v and they seem to work great. Added new graphics to a piece of plexi glass and a candle. Of course their is not a real Platte River Casino, that's just the avatar I use for the game room. I attached a finished pic, (I couldn't get it when illuminated the photo just washes out) but it looks very good when lit.

Good job getting it working.  propeller propeller

Turn your flash off. Take the picture at night (when the light from that window isn't blasting into your camera lens and messing up the exposure setting) If your camera has exposure compensation, try setting it to -1EV. If you don't have that, try using center weighted metering.

If you don't have those features and it is a fully automatic camera, but it has a zoom. try zooming in so that the light from the sign fills the picture. Then press the shutter button half-way down and zoom out while holding the shutter. Then take the picture.

Hope this helps.

PS: If you have a camera with fancier settings, you might also try setting the white balance to florescent.

It's a nice topper.  propeller applause
I'm glad that the camera advice helped.
I see that you have a cool looking 'neon' sign to the left. You could always post pictures of your game room in the home game room thread. stir the pot / get cooking

I will do that just as soon as I get a shelf built. My game room is under going a face lift and the neons were just sitting on the machines.
