I know this is wrong forum but I am wanting to know if rs232 based ticket printers , can they be printed to directly from a PC. I want to be able to Print Promo Tickets, i had a couple rs232 ticket printers and cant find them now, so i want to get a couple more but need to insure i can print to them from a PC

i know not proper forum but wasnt sure of which one.

That depends......

1. Most PCs today do not have a Rs232 port.
2. Can you get a driver for your OS.

ASSUMING a new PC with Win 7 and no serial port and a driver exists.... then if you have a USB to serial cable  it should work.
ASSUMING a new PC with downgraded to XP  the driver you have a 50/50 chance that it may not talk to a USB to serial cable.
                      same scenario using older OS - likely no driver exists to support the USB to serial conversion cable.
