OK,
I bought a slot IGT S2000 Triple Cherry. Was told I would have support if anything went wrong. Didn't happen.
Problem: Sound works, but only from one upper speaker. I pulled glass and switched wires/plugs, the other speaker worked. I did OHM check on wires and connectors, checked OK.
Upon boot, a quick boomp comes from tray speaker (have checked connection, all is plugged in correctly).
Sound only comes from one speaker.
Is the problem in my motherboard or the amp board? Or is there a software switch that needs to be addressed. I have tried different volume levels and the same problem exists.

Rocky Mountain Slots is of absolute NO assistance. They take your money and say "See Ya".

Any assistance will be great, Thank you in advance.

Since you know how to adjust the volume, I suspect you know your way around in the menus some what.
go into the same menu area but you want to enter the multimedia settings and see if you can change it to stereo instead of mono
under 3 options, 2 sound, 6 multimedia if you cant enter it then you do not have have a sound simm or MultiMedia Lite 2 board installed
you may nor may not need the MMLB2 board depending on which MPU (The Processor board) you have

also under 1 accounting is a option for version accounting
go into that menu and see if you have a Sound Simm installed
you will have to cycle to it with the buttons before locate the information, you will get information on the base chip, game chips, processor board etc before you get to the sound simm info.
it will show PV16 DSV00nnn (000-999) nnnn (which is the checksum) if one is installed.

Also if you know how to remove the MPU from the machine, post a picture of it can also reveal what you have.

3.2.1 Volume Control
3.2.2 Reel Spin Sound
3.2.3 Reel Stop Sound
3.2.4 Mechanical Bell
3.2.5 Roll Up Sounds
3.2.6 -

1.6.1 Version Accounting
PV16 Sound  N/A

I'll take pic of Motherboard and Amp board when I get back this morning. I greatly appreciate your response. Have had machine completely apart and the MPU was single level with no add-ons on the posts, and no SIMM in the slot.
Best regards,
Ding

If your machine doesn't use a multimedia board and sound simm you won't get the stereo option. There's been talk on previous threads about wiring the speakers together in those cases, but you're much better off in my opinion getting the board and simm. If you have the board and simm and still aren't getting the multimedia menu, then you have a bad board/simm or it's not plugged in tightly

So if a machine is sold saying it has "Enhanced Sound" I'm guessing that would be stereo. Will the Amp card be the same regardless? Noticing it has two channels with the 4 pin plug.

Thanks for the responses.

I'll make a call to Rocky Mountain Slots and see if it is something that was overlooked.

Enhanced sound would indicate the presence of a MMLII board and sound simm. The machine would still have the amp board in the topbox either way

1. Since only one speaker is working your speaker harness is stereo
2 there are 3 harnesses that are connected to the AMP
a Audio from machine to AMP and amp output back to tray speaker (left rear of top box)
this one one has 2 jumpers in the black SL connector they make the attenuation circuits on the Amp function properly (do not mess with them)
b amp to top box speakers
c power from either side of the top cabinet to amp which may split off and power a board mounted in the back center of top box which is a Power Distribution board (also netplex distribution as well)

Good luck Triple_Ding.  An MMLII board and a sound SIMM is how I would interpret "Enhanced Sound" as well, but some can spin that description a thousand different ways.

Thank you all for the responses. Contacted RMS today (finally got to talk to someone). Explained in detail as to what I had done as far as testing, and eliminating any factors.
I was told that by finding which speaker worked, cut and splice into the other solid colored wire (green) (coming from Amp to speaker). This is an actual IGT designated fix.
It was also mentioned that "enhanced sound" was in the selling discription for this machine. Being that it was not sent originally with the machine, we agreed I pay shipping, and they would forgo the $50 for the MMLII and sound SIMM. I had explained in detail the process I took, and the time that had passed with no contact or resolution.
I'd say for the most part, there needs to be a more efficient system implemented on their end. The word "file cabinet" came up a few times.
Thank you all for your helpful and educated and professional answers.

Glad you got it worked out.  You'll like the sound options once you get it all configured.

That's a good looking machine and topper by the way.
