On the mpu board, what are the dip switches used for?  The manual does not list 3-6.  Are they used for making different sounds?  The sound board self test worked but not any other time.  The ribbon cable is good.  I tried turning ribbon cable the other way but when I did that I think I fried the personality chip on the sound board.  It is very hot to the touch.  Any suggestion why the sound did not work would be great.

most likely a bad reel reader - control board- connections - do a 5 test to check the readers
