I have a double red white and blue,  it has back lite reels.  All lights work and test fine, but on a diagonal pay the center lights do not work the left top and right bottom work fine but the center does not.  The odd thing is when you win straight across the lights work fine.  What might be causing this problem.  Could it be the back light controller any ideas.

You probably have found a programming error.
not sure if it can be fixed.
you can try a different base chip (if it exists that matches your theme) or a different set of Game chips (SG) and see if either can solve the problem.

I have been playing with it,  when you unplug the back lite controller and plug back in the diagonal works but quits after a few spins,  new twist on the issue?

If you have the spares to do so I would swap out one at a time but put back if it does not solve the issue.
1 Back Light Controller
2 Cabinet I/O the board attached to side of the MPU cover
3 and finally the MPU, this one will require you to clear the errors using the jackpot reset key (it will detect a mpu change)

If it still shows up it could be programming issue that a partial hardware reset clears for a few spins which means changing the chips I mentioned earlier might fix it.
