Been thinking about this recently, I wonder if it can be done. Any gotchas to converting a DD Crew to a Shadow Dancer? DD Crew seems to have an additional RAM chip or two but otherwise from pics, it looks the same. It also has the small 4 player expansion board which simply can be removed. Are there issues with the 68k on these being incompatible? The pic I saw of Shadow Dancer had a Hitachi 68k with the battery on board and my DD Crew does not have this.
