I found that the fluorescent light tubes in belly panel had both died and upon finding the price of them locally decided to do away with them
I have successfully made a light using 40 bright white LEDs. I am now working on another for the other side of the machine.
You can buy the LEDs on Ebay for less than $10  I have constructed a line of lights on vero board.

It has 4 sets of ( 10 LEDs in series and a 120 ohm resistor in series with each set of 10). The 4 set of  are parallelled across a 24 volt dc supply
There is a power out socket in the back of my MPV which I have connected my tansformer

The LEDs are 3 volts each ( I found an 80 set LED Xmas light set complete with 24 v transformer in the post xmas sales) and purchased  the vero board from electronics component store (needs to be at least 9 inches in length). Will post photo soon as possible
