I have a 6000 "Cash Wheel" that boots with NO errors. The bonus wheel spin once and stops at 50, then it starts spinning again and never stops. I can play the game fine until it hits the bonus, then I get an 88 error. I have checked and cleaned the contacts on all the plugs and connectors. I have tried a different MPU and control board. DS1 is all on except 5. The controller board is Pt.# AS-03356-0535. At this point I am big time baffled. Any thoughts??

I ran into a similar issue on a Cash Wheel.  I had put in some different Mains and programmed the game trying to make it a "ticket printer" for the cash out.   However,  I don't think the top  wheel ran constantly....I believe it had stopped...  game played fine...UNTIL  I hit the Bonus spin round ....tapped the Bonus button,  wheel spun,  landed on one number but "paid"  something else...and then went to  fatal  error !

Come to find out the mains I had only work on Bally  6000   with no  top box  bonus games.  So,  I put the "original"  Mains back in and settled for a "knock off" / key switch  game.

The  Cash Wheel games will work immediately after clearing RAM.  By that,  I mean the game doesn't have to have the progressive programmed or working in order to have a functioning  game.  After Ram Clr... just remember to touch the Service/Change button to exit the  "day/month/year"   program mode.

Not sure if all this is of any help to your situation.

Check your   U2  eprom in the  controller box.  corrupt ?   not in properly ?   leg bent ?    Sometimes unplugging and re-seating connections  help.

Good Luck.
