When you're out of Quarters, You're done.

« on: November 15, 2012, 11:22:50 PM »

Im not a big IGT guy but I got one in a load of machines. I has an I960 Chip, it's a "Double 777 Red Hot" It has a "Primary SAS Error" so i thought I should KEY it. Every key chip I've tried either just the Green light comes on or ALL the lights come on. I have a 17, 31, 40, & 45.
I do not have a 22. I'm thinking that must be the one (cause I don't have that one). Any thoughts from the IGT guru's. Award glass attached....if it helps.
Thanks Lindsay

Which MPU is installed Lindsey? If it's the 1270 enhanced MPU, which daughter board is mounted to it?

It's trying to connect with the casino's player tracking system.  You need to clear the memory and start from scratch with a 224.

As I said I'm not to Smart with IGT (YET) but I see that the ASSY # ends in 1270. The daughter board only has 2  chips ( no game chips ) A BOOT & BASE chip is all.

In that case you need a RBK1 combined clear and key chip.

>>>  Added....did not realize you had an enhanced board running with a R-Board....you need a RBK1 chip.

You do have the option of using a legacy adapter board instead of an R board and then using correct SB, SG  and VS  chips that match the theme you want. You can then also use standard clear and key chips

Cowboy,

If it uses an RBK1 do you pull the SB like with S2000 or the RB chip.

Maybe someone who is a pro with the R board should tell lindam the way to clear with the rbk00001 chip.

Lindsey, other than that it uses a special clear/key chip I'm not familiar with the R board. All my 1270's use legacy adapter boards and standard chip sets instead of the R boards.  I don't swap games out, ever, but R board titles for what I have are rare or nonexistant. In your case, you're gonna have to get the RBK chip or switch to a legacy adapter and aquire the sb, sg, vs and simm for your theme. If you talk to Jim at Bettor, he will probably help you out with the RBK chip or post a WTB.
