Hi all- new member and am looking forward to the learning process. I acquired a Slingo Slot machine and it came with a disk labeled IGT Vision/S2000 so I am assuming this game is a IGT  Vision series?? or S2000??? It has worked very well, but recenetly, the bill acceptor doesnt accept bills. The light are on, the bill goes in, but it doesnt accept them. I thought maybe it wants the older style bills, but even those dont work. Searching around, I removed the cask box and reseated and heard the sets of noises it makes when you close the case door, but still no luck.

I thought this would be a good learning experience to troubleshoot and perhaps at the same time update the validator to accept the new bills for the future.

Any advice or direction is appreciated. I can follow specific instructions well.-lol

Welcome Bruce,
First thing that come to mind is the dip switches on the side of the WBA
Did you move them?
Also it won't hurt to remove the WBA and clean the optics. Dot use any cleaners, only water and a Q-tip.
Search the forum and you will find lots of info on cleaning do's and don'ts

I will look on the dip switches. I read around and have done the following. Did check the I/O test and the main door and the bill door flash between 0 and 1, everything else is either 0 or 1 i beleive. I finally got it to take a current 20, so your idea on the optics may be correct. I will hunt around and see how to do that- thank you.

As Neonkiss said, do not use alcohol or any cleaners - just water on the Q-tip to clean the validator optics.

If all else fails, and you find that your WBA is taking bills intermittently, even after a cleaning, you may need to run a calibration.  I ran this process on my S2000 and Game King and I rarely get a rejection with bills and tickets now.  Take a look at the video below:

Also, the JCM calibration paper for WBA's can be purchased at American Gaming & Electronics:

Hope this helps!

Wow, great video- now I wish there was one for cleaning the optics. I assume after hunting around a bit that you simply lift up on the top of the WBA towards the front there are a couple of black tabs that when depressed allow you lift up to see what appear to be optics. There are small clear colored round buttons, but I am sure these arent the only optics. Does anyone have a good pic of what I should be touching with warm soapy water and what I shouldnt be using.

Optics found and cleaned. Not really any dirt on the swab. So now I guess its either calibration, OR!! would it be better to upgrade the bill validator? OR!! I assume there must be a way of putting credits on a home machine without putting money in?? What are the options?

Please bear with me I am learning! And thanks for all the good suggestions
