Hi...as a noob here and sorta new to the whole owning a slot thing, one thing I need help with is the self-test issue.  After looking all over inside, I just can't locate the self-test button.  I have an S+ Haywire 25 cent 3 coin machine...game chip SP770 and reel chip SS4082 (90%).  Anyway, when just trying everything I can to figure out where it is, I tried the jackpot reset key on the side by the handle.  Voila..apparently that is acting as the self-test initiator.  But...not having hit a large jackpot at this point (only owning a week) I am baffled as to if this doubles as a jackpot reset or not.  I can post a pic of the inside.

Even so...I really just can't figure out the self-testing and all..even looking through the complete manuals posted on this site.  I'll try to get a pic tomorrow but here's what I have for now.  Thanks.

Oh...and looking for a bill validator system...complete with vault box.  Not sure how to install but been told this machine can do it...and looking for a 97% chip.

Pics of inside of machine. I have looked into the MPU board...no pushable buttons there, none behind the counter, none behind the bill validator box, none on the door anywhere or behind the belly glass.

Last couple pics....door by the coin comparitor and behind the spot for the bill box. Anybody got suggestions as to the self-test here? Again...I turn the jackpot reset and it seems to put the self-test on...but if that's the case, then what do I do to reset a jackpot?

And with a 90% chip, what's normal rough interval for hitting 777 on 3 coins and 3 Wilds on 3 coins?

Last...looking for a bill validator.  I see what appears to be a transformer for that, and a long black cord with plug-in. Would like to see what it takes to add that, given what I have. I'd rather not spend a fortune.

On that machine the test switch/button is most likely on the back side of the power switch housing. As far as the jackpot reset key and switch go on the side of the machine, yes, that is used to reset jackpots that exceed the coin payout limit settings in the machines programming

Bingo!!! Found it.  Now why would it go to self-test when I turn the jackpot key instead of zero out the credits? Am I doing something wrong or is that only for HUGE jackpots?

You're simply opening the menu options by turning that key any time there's no jackpot to reset. It does NOT clear any credits, ever. On jackpots that exceed machine limit settings it simply tells the machine that jackpot has been "hand payed" by an attendant and allows normal play on the machine to resume

There's an attendant menu that is accessed by turning the jackpot reset key, but that doesn't allow you to get to any of the significant self-test menus for changing configuration settings.  Just some machine statistics, replay last spins, etc.

Hopefully this is enough to determine which validator and part(s) I need for a bill validator.  Not sure if it's a multi-directional validator, but that's a plus for sure.
