Ironic, this is just what I needed at the moment. I dropped a new monitor in a Frogger and I need to hook up the sync. The new monitor has a different pinout then the Nanao for rbg and the sync.

                   Is there a way to make the Frogger game keep the high scores in memory? I hate it every time I turn off the machine and turn it back on, the scores erase.

Would there be a battery on the board?
The battery may be dead and cannot keep the CMOS memory chip
charged enough to retain the high score/accounting information.
It's possible that battery may need to be replaced.

I do not think so. I remember a certain seinfield episode where a pizza parlor is going out of business and George visits one last time. He notes he still has the high score on the frogger machine after so many years. So he buys the machine. Next he hires a couple of foreign slavic electricians (friends of kramer) who rig up a UPS so he can move the machine to his appartment while retaining power etc. Near the end of the episode george must cross the street with his frogger game on wheels. You get the birds eye top view of the street and its like a real-life version of frogger. Of course a mac truck wipes out the frogger machine and the eposode ends using the classic End-of-game sounds.

Of course you can't believe everything you see on TV....

You might consider leaving the machine on 24/7 but installing a switch that kills power to the monitor as that is what would suck the power and cause burn in.

                                  I don't see any type of battery on the boards, that was the first thing I was looking for. Turning off the power to the monitor is a good idea as an alternative but I'm wondering if there is some way somehow to add a battery somewhere on the board to hold the memory to the chip or chips. Since other games have them there must be a way to do it. I wonder which chip holds the score memory when it's on.
