thought I would post some pics of the first ball I ever bought as I`ve just got around to fixing it.
after a new hopper motor some payout issues and fitting a new spring in the cancel coil I`m just about there.
I think the spring could have done with being a little stronger as it sometimes fails to push the bar back far enough and the hold (KNees) fail to engage but its not the easiest  job in the world to
put one of these in in situ (you need three hands and experience as a fanny mechanic)
the coin changers work but someone wired the right hand one to pay 2 coins rather than 5 but will leave it as is
the only blot was laying the belly glass out ready to fit this was the original artwork one a chuck rolled off the shelf above and broke it  hissy fit

It's an interesting machine with the change device installed that way. Is the top payout really only 15 coins with most being 10? That seems a bit harsh. Was there a law in England back then limiting payouts?

yes the laws were quite strict on payouts and op bell would know more about the laws but I think that's why there is also a hold after win feature
payouts were harsh but alas governments think we are unable to gamble sensibly thinking about it wins over a small amount were token payouts £2 seems to ring a bell but perhaps op bell might enlighten us
