Hello all,

Starting up my slot collection again with an old Bally E1000.  First play works fine, put in some nickels, credits register, pull the handle, reels stop in sequence, everything fine.  HOWEVER, after that initial play the insert coin light does not appear and the machine will no longer register nickels that are put into the coin slot.  Any ideas?  Thanks for your help from the newbie!

do a 5 test when that happens - you will find you are getting all 0000 indicating bad reader control board - bad io board - or connection issues.

Please give a warm welcome to Matt (epbowlingdude03) -- he's a personal friend of mine who I've previously worked with, and who has helped me move many a slot machine into my house with his pick-up truck.  Welcome to the site, Matt.  Clap

Where could I find such boards if connection issues are not the problem?  Also, thanks for the kind welcome!!

I believe I may have a connection prob, when trying to manipulate the reel assembly out the coins accepted light came back on.  How does one get the reel assembly out on these things?  I got the two levers on the front but am clueless after that. Any ideas?

pull the levers/latches forward - grasp the front of the reel mech and pull - there are wire connections on the right side - on the top right of the mech.

Check your Ran Board  connections.. They have been known to go bad due to battery acid.. You could try removing it and reseating it..

That code is machine reset during a payout. Could be a couple of things.. I would first check the big white plug on the power supply board behind the hopper on the back wall.. Then remove the board and check the solder joints on the plugs pins. They develop cracks causing voltages to drop. Resolder those connection will help. Second it sounds like the connection plug on your ram board are bad or have corrosion causing your machines issues.
