Fixing to leave on a service call in an hour for what a customer says is a "Double Diamond".  His main issue is that it accepts quarters and plays fine, but if you put a dollar in the validator, it give back 4 quarters rather than giving 4 credits.

Someone elsewhere suggested it might have a board setting to do this, but I have no documentation to help me figure this out.  Anyone know of a setting to change to get it to accept bills and give credits?

Thanks...

Depends on the SP (Game Chip) but if say SP872 or 873 Dip #4 should be off, other than that in the Menu go to 8 - 0 or 1, also see if the 5 - 0 or 1 is set for Credit Play or player selectable, (or possibly non credit) just play it and see what the coins do, but first press the cash out button and see what happens, if it lights it is player selectable,  if you post the game chip number we can tell you exactly what the options will be

IF you check out RICKS FAQs, there is a way to determine what Game and Reel Chips you have just by pressing a few buttons.
These are the SP/SS Chips....

You can then find the simplified configuration instructions written by R273 in the upload a new file section.... that will correspond to the previously identified chips.

Please note you will need to ensure there are no credits on the machine before doing this.
