http://www.pinrepair.com/slots/wms/jackpart.htm

Also available in Jackpot Beach Party and Jackpot Country Party. The reel strips are the same for Jackpot Beach, Jackpot Country and Jackpot Party, only the top glass is different for the three games (JP Party is aqua, JP Beach is purple, JP Country is brown). They all use the same reel glass with a small party pooper noise maker just above the reels. The XU2/XU3 processor software is the same as Jackpot Party too (DMD and sound files are different for the three games though).

In Clay's writeup on the WMS Jackpot Party machines he referred to a "party pooper noise maker" just above the reels. Anyone have pictures or info on this part? Was it a separate speaker or noisemaker operated by the cpu? It isn't listed in the WMS 40X service manual, wondering if this was a mod.

Thanks!

It's not a part, it's a drawing of a party pooper noise maker.  He is describing the graphics on the reel glass.  I am going to look at the one I have to make sure, but I'm pretty sure that is it.

ahhh, that makes more sense, thanks!  I'll look for a closeup picture of the glass to check it out.

I had read that a while back too and determined it to be a bit misleading as well.  It must refer to the drawing on the left side of the reel glass--kinda strange to refer to it though.  Definitely no noise maker in the machine.  I change kits among my machines and have had JP in other machines and the sound is always there, without installing any part.  The "noise maker" is part of the software.  Probably one of the best themes for Dotmation.

After this explanation of what it is I can see that he was really saying "They all use the same reel glass with a small party pooper noise maker <emblem> just above the reels."   I was reading it too literally I guess. Anything, thanks to everyone for the answers.
