HI
I have a 1995 igt round top 5 times pay serial#543928 model b4933cfiw one year ago i installed a new game kit, from that point the bill validator has not worked,it will not even take the bill in,i can look inside the opening and i can see a red light, also when i pull out the cash can,and re install, shut door the motor just spins for about 25 seconds, then stops.
Here is what i have tryed in fixing this problem,i have ordered a new bill valator chip, had a slot tech come out to install,he found that this validator has no chip, but is a flash(I'm not to sure what that means)this tech then called friend tech, explained the problems,he was told i need a game clear chip,so he went and picked up one,he installed it and reset the game, still the bill validator wont take bills.
As you can tell I'm not a slot tech by trade, but i do feel i can fix this problem,if some of the experts out there can tell me what to do.thanks for all your help,if i need to give you more info, just let me know
THANKS MARK

Hello!

Welcome to the site!  First, we need some more details.  Does the yellow rectangle right above where you insert the bills ever light up?  What happens when you try to insert a bill - does it take the bill and then spit it back out or do nothing?

Hi plepo

really, the last tech have a set chip this leaves configurate denomination, enable or disable bill acceptor and other features, i don´t know if the number part is correct but if the tech have this chip he need to use to enable the bill validator option, for example in the past and in my case i put the set chip and go to option 17 on display the default option is 17-0 i change the option to 17-1 save whit self test and the bill acceptor finally work however in some cases the option number changes whit the version of sp on the machine. In this palce exist too much information about those correct settings for enable the bill validator.

Yes - that could be another issue....

Yellow light dose not light up.
also when you insert bill it wont take it at all,it wont grab it,or spit it back out

If the yellow light does not light up - it will not accept bills or even try - unless both bulbs are burnt out - but that is unlikely.

I am going to assume because it worked prior to the game change, that it's just a setting.  Two things must be set for a DBV to work - the denomination has to be set so the machine knows how many credits to give per 1 dollar and the DBV setting has to be enabled.  BOTH of these settings require a SET chip to change.  You can view these settings without a SET chip - that is where I would start....

Open the door, keep pressing the "self test" button unitl you see a "9" in the "Winner Paid" window - the "Credit" window will either have a 1 or 0 - "1" means that the dbv is enabled, a "0" means that it is disabled.

Now pressing the "self test" button unitl you see a "6" in the "Winner Paid" window - the "Credit" window should show what the current denomination is set to.

This sound right to everyone else??

I think you want to get to the first test that has a 5-0or1or2 in the winner paid, then advance that with the change button until you get to the 9- 0 or 1  0= not enabled.   Then you advance the menu until you have a 6 in the coins played window and this will tell the setting as displayed in the credits window.

Absolutely sounds right applause Hail dpalmi, however what is the properly setchip for enable the option? , for me this a boring trouble on s+ the bill acceptor should be always avalaible for the final user.

To know what SET chip you need, we have to know what SP Game chip is in the machine.  Follow the instructions from the link below and let us know what SP chip is in the machine...

Not to confuse the issue but have you looked into the "submit a new file" section for
IGT+ PSRs & Test Option Sheets Simplified V3 ?
