Hello,

I just got the CDS Prolink software.

I've got to go to an all day baby shower/poker tourney so you can have first crack at it and see how it goes.

I have the same CDS prosolo progressive hardware and display from April a few days ago that others here have.

I don't know if I'm allowed to upload the software here but I'll email it to all who have asked about it.

That's exciting.  I don't have the meter in front of me, but does anyone know how one would hook up a cable from a computer to the meter?

The cool thing is that the ProSolo sends all the In/Out info back to a desktop computer  yes

I've got my cable made but don't have the communications working.

My board is a ProSolo V1.07.  I don't have a ProLink controller, so I'm hooking directly from laptop to ProSolo board.

The software appears to be working on my laptop which is running Win XP and using the Com port 1 serial port.

I made the female DB9 serial laptop connector exactly like the picture as shown in the prolink guide although my pin numbers are actually different than those listed.  My pins as labeled on my connector are 1,3,4.

I'm hooking up those 3 wires from the DB9 connector to the ProSolo RS-232 connector.  I've tried various wire changes at the RS-232 connector but no luck.

The error shows "Reading ID - controller not responding" when I go into a Prosolo config option.

Anyone get the communications working yet? Scratch Head

Thanks,
Scott

Mark-

Do you have yours working with your computer??  If so, you can solve both mine and Scott's problems with your diagram of your wiring between the computer and the controller.

Sorry, I was way too busy to play with it today...
I had it hooked up a few times now but that was a while ago...
everything's in a box somewhere...
I gotta dig it out and hook it back up....when I do,
I make it real simple diagram as to the hookup.
You guys might get it going before I do though...lol

Okay,
I had a little time to fiddle with it this morning.
The com 1 port only stays open for 15 seconds at first,
if you don't follow the manual to a "T", the port closes and you get that stupid "no com with the controller" message.
I will play with it some more tommorow,
There was a paragraph in the manual that helps one get the com port to stay open.
I will do some more re-reading before I turn it back on.

I still haven't been able to get communications, however when my meter powers up it now it stops at "RS232" instead of showing an amount.  I might have had some sort of communications at some point that affected something but I didn't notice it right away until later.

Anyone get this going yet, anyone, anyone, Bueller, Beuller ...  Scratch Head

I really didn't have a chance to play with it too much...
It's a complicated little setup actually and totally requires the correct inputs
at the right time in order to keep the com 1 port open for more than 15 seconds.
Otherwise it shuts the com 1 port down and all you get are error codes and
that frustrating little 19200 bar trying to locate the logic controller.
I'm hoping I get to look at it more this week coming up.

kenokarz,
What does the harness look like that's connected to the logic Pro Solo board?
Can you email me some close up pics...I'm thinking I'm just missing how to properly hook it up.
I almost had it going today...I just need a little help on the harness that goes to the Pro Solo.
I have the ProLink hooked up, but I can't get it to communicate to the Pro Solo logic board.
I actually am able to get the displays to increment, but only manually.

We're in the same boat -- I don't have a cable that goes to the RS-232 port nor do I know the pinout.   CaptainHappy Worried
