I would like to talk about the s-2000 coin in jam error code.  Reason being I am helping a buddy out with this (long-distance).  I have had this code/error before.  A few of them were legit.  One of them was not.  I was working on a 4-reel s-2000 based game and it was throwing this code due to a bad DISPLAY.  Now at the time I did not think it was possible but jim at blueridge was the one to turn me on to this goofy code/problem.  Anyway I changed the display and re-booted and the machine was good.  The fella I am trying to help has a problem beliveing me about this but he has changed and chked all in the coin in ckt and wiring and still has the code.  It was at this point I asked if his display lit up or worked and he said no.  I advised him to test display or replace it.  I had always thought the display was just an output but evidently it must be a input or in the loop with coin in sys.  Wanted to share my thoughts about this and there could be a old thread for all I know about this.  I have never studied the s-2000 wiring/logic strategies but sure a few of the experts here know why this happens.  Thanks for all help.  btw the fellas game is a new game build-wiring,boards etc. All his wiring is connected in proper locations and machine is set-up properly for s-2000 based game.  Thanks again wave

The Coin Optics, Coin Mech, LED Display, Player Buttons, door side optic are connected to the Door I/O board which is connected to the Machine via SENET ports on the motherboard
The VFD is Netples.

When the LED display isnt working right it probably causes the logic on the door not to show the true status of the Coin Comparitor or Optics which causes the machine to think there is a coin in tilt

Have your buddy unplug the LED Display and see if the machine works without it. Depending how your buddies machine is set up he may or may not see any current dollar value on the VFD.

The machine definitely lets you know if the VFD is missing "no disp" shows on the LED.
