I have an S2000 that I cannot Clear. I get stuck after the display reads: "Please close the main door". It will not allow me to go to the next step. I have changed the optics.  I have read about a dozen posts about this issue. Is there a simple way that I can test my optics to make sure they are working correctly?

Thanks in advance.

I assume that when you close the Main Door the display still shows "Close Main Door"

Have you checked the Belly Glass Switch?

You can check in the I/O Test Menu

4.1.3 Processor
Input Test    Allows tests on circuits that provide input to the processor, such as machine doors and reel optics

In this section it will bring up the Door Optics, when you close the Door you will see the change from O to 1 etc

Press the test button on the MPU....Cash Out (equivalent to Page Down) to menu 4 as described by Harp...Cabinet I/O test.

Don't get me wrong, I'd gladly sell you a replacement MPU! But I want you to confirm yours is actually bad before buying a replacement!  yes

And you should receive those today! Shipped Friday via Priority Mail.  yes Oh, and both boards have fresh batteries on them as well.

It could very well be the MPU. Had the same thing happen awhile back.

Sounds like the green Battery leaked and messed up your traces. I hate those batteries and remove as soon as I get a machine. The MPU should do the trick. Good Luck. Be careful changing your chips. Pay attention to the notches and extremely careful not to bend any legs on the chips.
