Hi,

I've got a very good friend and his partner who will be getting married in Vegas on 19th April.

My wife and I's tradition is to buy a newspaper on the day of who ever is getting married as a small gift to be given on the first wedding anniversary, not sure if its the same in the states but it's 'Paper' over here so it fits well.

They are only travelling with very close relatives for the wedding and then the relatives fly back to England whilst they carry on the honeymoon travelling around the usual sites and down to San Fransicso......anyway....... on to the request: is there anyone living in Las Vegas who would be prepared to buy a copy of a local Las Vegas newspaper dated 19th April 2010 and post to me, obviously I'll cover all costs involved. Is there even a daily Las Vegas newspaper?

Fingers crossed and thanks in advance.

I would call them and see if they will sell you a paper from that day as a lot of papers allow "backpurchases" if they still have them !

Here ya go! they will indeed ship one out to you. This is a common practice in Las Vegas.

Click on the above link.
When you get it, leave it sealed! That way it will have a Las Vegas Postmark and be in perfect shape Smiley

This is a smaller paper, not as big as the "R-J"

OK..this might hit a few nerves..but here goes anyways....
From the dialog I am thinking that the Groom and the Bride are..or well..BOTH "MALE" gender..
If this is indeed the case read on.....

http://www.vegas.com/traveltips/guide/wedding.html

According to a few publications GAY WEDDINGS ARE NOT LEGAL IN THE STATE OF NEVADA!!!!!

There, now ya have it.
Better they know this BEFORE they get here. Might be time for them to consider getting married in California and having their "Honeymoon" here in Sin City...

That could be true, but it also could just be the English way to say "a man and his future wife"

Thank you all, and thank you very much for the links Kirk, it is very much appreciated, K+ to you.

I've fired an email off to the LV Journal to ask about getting just the one days copy.

In answer to the subsequent query, they will be "man and wife"  yes. Still, very interesting to see the limitation on gay weddings in a town renowned for it's liberal thinking!

You are welcome Smiley just making sure you (they) are not blindsided.
"Surprises" like that could really sour a major event Smiley
Tell them there are all kinds of "Special" deals here for newlyweds.
Here is another site  http://www.cheapovegas.com/index.php
All kinds of special deals, cheap stuff to do. They will have a lot of fun here.
Weather will be really nice....

To clear this up, they definitely fall into the catergory of 'Adam and Eve' and not 'Adam and Steve'  yes

Personally speaking...I dont care...
I just didnt want them "Surprised" *IF* that was the case.....
I just say it like it is, not into candy-coating things to make them politically "Correct".
You have to admit, now we are ALL on the same "page" and everyone understands..
Party on Maynard!!!
