Tube tester says tube is good and like new.
Did a cap job (even those tantlums under the metal cover) and got a horizontal I could lock in to view a faint, fuzzy, narrow, folded, picture.
Vertical is fine, full screen top to bottom, and no rolling.
Image is squashed side to side with fold over of image, faint cards and background, off color and fuzzy. Focus on FBT sharpens image a little.
One clue may be that turning up brightness to max causes horizontal to scramble.

Any ideas where to look next to fix this weird problem?

Was a bad solder joint on a previously repaired (by somebody else) 150V power supply transistor.
