Framing Round top glass

Hey, anybody have any ideas on how to frame round top glass to hang on the wall.

You can buy flexible framing strips.....never used them but I know it exists.

If you don't mind spending some bucks you can take it to michaels and they have different frame styles, some round and some square you are able to mix / match.

For myself I would buy matt paper. This is the stuff they use around the outside of pictures within frames.
Simply put the glass on top, use an exacto-knife to cut around the glass. This then lets the glass sit within the matt.
You can then tape the permiter of the glass to the matt. Then frame the matt.

My friend just reminded me that there are plate hangers that would work for this.....

You could also mount them like R273 (see his profile pictures). With two strips on the wall.
In the case of round glass on the top bit would be held in place but its more than enough.

Mirror clips would work just as well

If you want to get really involved, you could cut a frame out of pine, oak or some other wood and make a box. You could put a light behind it and paint or stain the wood. This only took me a day, give or take.

Also, for around the edge or the glass, you can use some of that automotive door trim that you can slide over the edge.

Hey thanks for the ideas. What I wanted to do was frame it the same shape of the glass. The problem is the glass is round on top rectangle on the bottom. I tried Michael's, but as far as custom framing they can only do straight edges. I guess I could get a round frame with the same radius as the top of the glass and a rectangle frame of the same design and miter cut them at the point were the glass goes from round to straight.  CINJO I like what you did I'm going to keep that open as a option. POPPO automotive  trim is also a good idea thanks. Anyway the picture should give you and idea of what I want to do. Of course the sides wouldn't be as long.
