Got an 2 IGT 4402 that has two different touchscreen problems.

The first one, whenI put the keychip in and the menu comes up the touchscren dosent work. I swapped the monitor out to anoter machine and it the monitor works fine.

The second one allows me to keychip and stuff but when i get to the setup menu an error "touchscreen communication erro" comes up. We changed the backplane board but to no avail.

Help me out please

if using key28 then you don't use the touchscreen on the first menu.  you should get the following options: perform keychip, clear ram, clear e2 and ram.  you use the test button to cycle between the choices and use the reset key to change the option to yes(green) or no(red) yes

Scratch Head open/close the door?  if you've definitely removed the touchscreen controller as the problem i would suspect another netplex device as the culprit or possibly a bad mpu.  maybe try a ram clear only with the keychip and see what it does.  it's very odd that you can use the touchscreen in the menu but it locks up in the error. lightning bolt

Actually the first problem i solved. It was the backplane board.

The second one is  a bit more difficult. The monitor and touchscren components isnt the problem. We changed the backplane board. We changed the mpu board. I think its probably just a short in the wires or something.
