I'm not a S2000 expert, but if you have eliminated the reel as being bad by swapping them, and changed the MPU, all that really leaves is the wiring or the motherboard. I would double check the wiring. Make sure no pins are coming out of the plugs on both ends. Also make sure a wire didn't get cut/broken somewhere in between.

Did it work before and just quit, or did you get it this way?

When you turn on the power with the door open,
are the reels "stiff"?
Try turning the reels one by one with your finger and please tell us the difference,
in resistance, between the 1st reel and the others.

Does the 1st reel work correctly when you swap it with the 2nd position on the reel shelf?
Or the does the error change to "Reel 2" error on the display?
When you say you switched "controller" - what part are you talking about?

He said the problem stayed with reel #1, (and reel #1 worked in pos #2). At least that's how I read it.

Okay good,
Does the 2nd reel unit work when installed into the 1st position on the reel shelf?
I'm suspecting it's nothing more than an oxidized pin in the 1st reel Molex connector.
Or a bent pin?

 Sherlock Smiley
" the one from position 2 on position 1 is dead"
 Tongue Out

But I agree he needs to look closer at the wiring/connectors.

thank you all for your support.
the problem is on MPU. I was letting that possibility the last because I don't have a spare one. as per my casino owner: "is not good spending money for spare parts. better pray nothing bad happen"  Cry Laughing  and as per law in romania I have a seal for every MPU, and that mean when I use the MPU from another machine I must keep it close for 2-3 weeks untilt somebody from gaming board come to put me another seal.
now I must send the MPU in holland, to the IGT europa for repair.

thank you very much again.
