Scratch Head ...i put my igt 3 coin wild star rwb game in ss3918 and reel strips....84648400, 84648500, and 84648600.  when it shows a win it does not pay out...when it shows nothing it pays out.  so i changed the position of the strips and it still is screwed up...do i have the wrong strips? or does any one know which strip is first, second, and third. i thought i tried all combinations but i couldbe wrong .......this is a S+ machine  thanks

Hmmm...if they are positioned correctly, I would guess that either they are the wrong strips for the chip installed, or they are in wrong order.  Try swapping reels around and play a few games to see if the situation is resolved first.

Assuming they're the correct strips, the 500 one almost certainly should be in the middle spot.

To make sure they're the right strips, you'd need to post a list of the symbols in order on each strip, and the SS chip in your machine.  To determine the SS chip, follow these instructions.

Edit: I see you posted ss3918.

I show the strips for the SS3918 on two different lists as

85878200
85878300
85878400

Here is what the patterns should look like for WS RWB. Replace the arrow thing with the Wild Star symbol (these are clone strips)

The easy way to figure out the order for RWB  themes or clones with a top award symbol that is not a 7.
Each reel has multiple 7's:
On the  reel strip for the first reel only one of the 7's will be Red or the matching color for that theme
On the  reel strip for the second reel only one of the 7's will be White
On the  reel strip for the third only one of the 7's will be Blue or the matching color for that theme

I should look at the set of RWB strips that I have (R 7, W 7, B 7 is the top award) to see if it also follows this.

FOR FUTURE REFERENCE:   99% of the time when you have reel strips that have three different numbers on them they usually will be placed in ascending order starting from left to right, this is what is referred to as ABC in the bible.
some times only two different numbers  will appear on the strips, then there order could be AAB, ABA, BAA,  DEPENDS ON THE GAME. double diamond deluxe  and   triple double diamond come to mind as a sample.
once you have the strips installed on the reels and the reels installed in the game:  you can go to the pay table test. press the white test button until the  #4  appears in the coins played window, your sp and ss numbers should appear in the winners paid and credits windows, if you press the spin button the three symbols for the top award should appear on the payline, the 1st. coin payout and the 2nd or 3rd. payout should appear in the windows. each press of the spin button should give you the next winning combination, etc. etc. this will also test the reel strips to the glass for the proper payout table. (if you don't get the proper result you can swap the reel assembly around until you do )
Hope this helps

I would like to add that the PAR sheet for the SS3918 has the Physical Reel Strip Listing as follows:

Line #   1 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #   2 B7 B7 B7
Line #   3 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #   4 RB RB RB
Line #   5 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #   6 H7 H7 H7
Line #   7 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #   8 BB BB BB
Line #   9 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #  10 R7 R7 R7
Line #  11 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #  12 HB HB HB
Line #  13 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #  14 B7 B7 WS
Line #  15 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #  16 WS RB RB
Line #  17 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #  18 BB WS H7
Line #  19 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #  20 H7 R7 BB
Line #  21 ~~ ~~ ~~
Line #  22 HB BB HB

This follows the PAYTABLE 139A519.
I drew a picture of what the 3 strips should probably look like for you.
What is surprising to me though...I don't see the 3Bar symbol on the Reel Strip Listing?
Could it be the HB single white bar I've drawn? Scratch Head >>>

RB is red bar
HB is white 2 bar
BB is blue 3 bar

you drew white as a single bar should be 2 bar and blue bar as 2 bar should be 3 bar, red bar is ok.

The picture I posted above is a clone of the the WS RWB strips. Just has a red arrow symbol instead of the WS symbol.

But johnnyt already has it sorted out and working.
