I purchased an Odyssey machine almost 6 months ago. It seems when I play 1 certain game(Krazy Keno) it will sometimes freeze up during play. Last night I was playing Krazy Keno and the machine frooze up during play. You have to shut the machine down and restart it up again and the game will resume from where it froze at. I have never had this happen to me on the other 5 games when I play them. Last night I played the machine for 2 straight hours with no problems, as long as I did not play Krazy Keno. My question is Can you have problems with just 1 certain game or am I lucky just because the machine has never froze up on the other 5 games? I still enjoy the Odyssey and its fantastic graphics. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Robert Winter is the man when it comes to these games. From my limited knowledge I think that there is a hard drive in the unit and that games load from that HDD. Maybe you have a "bad spot" on the hard drive and when the game calls for data from that spot, it freezes because it can't get the data it needs or can't write back to the drive. One approach might be to remove the drive and do a scan and fix on it but don't do anything until Robert chimes in. Here is his link http://www.robertwinter.com/slot/odyssey/

As stated, you definitely have some bad sectors on your hard drive.  The giveaway is that it only happens on one game.  If you had a memory, Psycho or mobo issue, you'd see it happening on ANY game.  The drives are jumpered to be read only so it's not a write issue.

I would NOT recommend trying to do a scan on it.  If you modify *anything* on the drive, the RSA signature of the drive will become invalid and it will become unusable.

If you don't need/want to play Krazy Keno, then just leave it alone (or do a Safe Clear and enable 6 games that don't include KK).  I *do* have drives available should you need one in the future.
