Need Help with building circuit

i could have done this in my sleep 25 years ago since the computers i worked on all had this feature.

heres what i have 12v relay that needs turned on. and or off for a 110v supply (can replaced with 5v if needed)

heres what i want

the ability that when a momentary button(on) is pressed and machine powers and momentary button released the machine stays powered up
and when a different momentary button is pressed (off) the machine powers off.
and the ability to turn on or off with other sources Ie  turn on when service button pressed  when machine off but service button act normally  when power is on.
or be able to feed 5v in player tracking when card inserted to power on machine and not affect anything else in player tracking.

I think that's an excellent question for our electronic gurus! 

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Poppo has his machine power up when he sticks
a player tracking card into the Mastercom?
Whether or not the card has to stay in there - I'm not sure.

Relays need to be powered on continuously in order to energize the solenoid
that separates the two different power sources.
A momentary switch doesn't work.

I know what you mean by using a momentary switch to power up something but normally
that switch is routed out to a motherboard such as in desktop computer tower cases.
There are other IC components that go into effect once powered up
and the switch does not have to be continuously pressed to remain "On".
How that is done - I'm not sure...
I do think you'll get some help on this real soon though!

heres what i found, i think something like this will work but would want additional switches since i will have multiple ways to shut off, (push button inside slot, timer circuit from SAS) and multiple ways to turn on (ie one of the slot buttons, insert card in machine or push button inside slot)

i really want the switch only to turn on or only turn off, dont want card inserted turning on and then next card inserted turning off

Why not just use a 120vac rated push on/off button and locate it anywhere you want?...There are ways to turn the machine on and off remotely if that is what you are trying to do...

The idea if machine is off and a player card is inserted and either left in or removed the machine will stay powered on.  I also want the option that if their is no activity for 30 minutes the machine will be powered off.  And i still want the ability to power off or on from inside machine and still have other functions working

Well if you do use a relay to do this and let say it's 5 or 12VDC and your getting that power from the machine.??
When you turn it off that will be the last time, because you have now lost the 5 or 12 VDC to power it back up.

There are ways to get this product to possibly do what you want to do...You can be very creative with these products...Here is a link to the main one you might be interested in...Also, they are very helpful at the factory-just give them a call and let them know what you want to do...these could plug in the socket inside the machine and you might have to rewire it to be constant power...

That's right...the "Service Outlet" is directly hooked up to the 115VAC power outlet.
It is "ON" even when the power supply box is turned off.
The only way it loses it's power is to unplug the machine from the wall.
This can be used to supply power via a Walwart's power adapter to energize
the relay's circuit for an "Push On/Push Off" type of switch.
