Hey Folks!  Long time no post...

Anyone hear of the Barona Casino robbery yesterday?

Barona Casino is running a promotion called "Golden Ticket Giveaway".  You play and get 500 reward points before 8 PM each day and you get an entry into the 9 pm drawing for the "Golden Ticket" for that day...   The promotion started 11/1 and ends 12/23 - this means there are only 53 "Golden Tickets.  On 12/23 those 53 people are eligilble for the final drawing for $250,000 dollars

Anyway - Baronas has bundles of $100 dollar bills on display in plexiglass boxes at each entrance.  Each bundle of cash is wrapped with a banks bill wrap that says $10,000.

In the wee hours of Weds. morning 11/9, four guys with pistols and rifles burst thru the door yelling for everyone to hit the floor.  They then tried to wrap a chain around the display to yank the display out the door - a la ATM machine thefts...  Except...  These bumbling wannabe crooks didn't bring a chain long enough.  LMFAO...

They then beat the plexiglass with their rifle butt and one of the crooks pistols went off shattering the plexiglass.  The crooks threw the money into a duffle bag and then haul'd @ss.  Anyone that knows Barona Casino knows that it's located in a valley between two mountainn ranges - which makes it only 2 ways to get there by vehicle, from the south or the north.  Both twisty, turny single-lane-each-way roads through passes.  The crooks made it out of the pass and abandoned their getaway SUV and the duffel bag.

Little did these bumbling crooks realize that each bundle of $100 dollar bills only had a $100 dollar "cover sheet.  the rest of the bills were $1 bills.  LMFAO again....

Here's a link to the story...

Not exactly an Oceans 11 caper.........

It would need to be a lot more than 250k to risk spending the next 15 years in the clink for armed robbery.
That's only 16K a year ? I could claim Welfare and net more and that's before splitting it with one or more accomplices.

I heard about the RWC robbery, but not the one in San Jose. Funny how the same crime in a less affluent area doesn't seem to get reported...

How stupid would you have to be to think that a casino would put $250,000.00 in a whimpy plexiglass box 3 feet from the door Cry Laughing
