Hi,
I bought an  Aristocrat 540 MK 2.5 VIDEO poker / slot machine and not all the buttons work? Bet 1 Credit , 3 credits , 5 credits work but 2 credits and 10 credits per line doesn't? The play 2 lines and 3 lines work but 1 line , 4 lines and 5 lines don't work? Play MAX doesn't work either? The external battery light is off but the power ok and internal battery ok lights are on.  I have the JACKPOT RESET key and thats it.. Do I need the AUDIT KEY and Front door key to make it operate properly aswell?
I wait for a reply and if any more info is needed please let me know and I will attempt to respond ASAP?          wave

From my very limited (less than 1 week experience...lol ) although I do have pc repair skills...I would try and find out how to put the machine into test mode first ..that way the faulty buttons and other faults will show up...So you need to be able to open the unit up.. unplugged...If you dont have the door lock key and cant be bothered paying or trying to get one..then... you have to lever the door open with a couple of robust big screw drivers hold and pull the door release latch up even though it wont engage...(as the screwdrivers leverage start to effect the panel the latch will free up...this will keep the latch working and able you to latch the door closed.. so while using the screwdrivers...  one around the door lock area another up more ...do it slow and use smaller screw drivers to fit and inch your larger screwdrivers up and down the side panel  (Less. damage usually fixable )... Once open...Most importantly...DO NOT TAMPER WITH ANYTHING WHILE THE MACHINE IS POWERED UP...you can do alot of damage ....from what i have learned sometimes a faulty button microswitch can affect another switch that may not be faulty ...run the test mode and switch off then pull the wiring to the erroneous switches (making sure machine is switched off )swap them with a switch or switches you dont really need or even with one you know is working correctly while the machine is switched off (usually there all the same type of wiring config and color code...) or one that is predominantly dormant  while the machine is active ie Gamble... making sure the loose unplugged wiring is secure from any contact with anything then re run the test mode and see if the same button shows as faulty if so then you may need to get another microswitch...dont refit the faulty switch elsewhere it can cause more probs.... .(mine just pull down from the button and click back in... ..Hope this helps )Maybe someone else might have some input  that might assist you also....As for the audit jackpot keys if you dont have you can break your way into the top door using the same method...slowly..mine is the top glass it lifts up lever it on both sides slowly..this will enable you to access behind the key switches and manually trigger the microswitch (i jammed a pen down the space .. and or cut the wires (WITH MACHINE UNPLUGGED) to the other reset circuit and manually briefly touch the stripped ends up to trigger the reset ..dont panic there usually very low voltage........To be safe and avoid damage dont let any of the wires come in contact with the casing (earth) ..and handle them carefully by the insulation only....mark the wires with tape so you know which is which....that  way you can fit your own switches and locks..at a later time......GOOD LUCK ...Disclaimer use this info at your own risk and peril....everything can change in the blink of an eye.......
