Hi I am new to Bally 5500 games. I have a problem with my chips but I do not know what chip would be bad. It has  a U15, U12, U4, U3, U20, U18,. The machine won't do a ram clear on the board. It does nothing at all. I have tried other game chips on that board and everything is OK. I replaced all the chips to get it working . So what I am asking is what chip would be bad. Any help would be great.

Any of them could be BAD.

For what it's worth U3, 4, 12, & 15 are the same chips on every Bally 5500. I guess what I'm trying to say is, when you do a game change U 18 and U 20 are the only chips that needs to be changed.

To do a clear using the jumper at JW 10 the mains ( U3, 4, 12,& 15 ) those mains must have a number of 92000 If you have 95000 you must use a clear chip. You may change the 95000 to 92000

OK I am still having a problem with the machine. I took the mains out of my fire ball and used them on the white lightening board with the U18 and U20 white lightening game and reel chips. The game will run but no sound and it will not work the bill val. on this upright machine. I can put it in my slant top and everything works good. My slant top is a 1993 and the upright is a 1997. Any help would be great. Pulling out my hair now.
