First time poster here.  I had received a "12" low voltage error on my Double Wild S+ round top machine.   Soooo I ordered and received a new battery.  Then here's what happened:

1) Replaced the battery no problem
2) Got stuck in a "61", "61 1" loop.
3) Pulled the game chip and installed a CLEAR chip.  No problem.
4) CLEAR chip worked just fine.  Counted up just like it should.
5) Removed CLEAR chip and installed SET chip.
6) Enabled bill validator. Set option to 1. "9  1"
7) Set denomination to "25"
8) Removed SET chip and installed game chip
9) Cleared 61-3, 61-1 errors.  No problem.
10) Now the game comes up with no errors per se, but the Insert coin light blinks and I have a 0 in the coins played window.  It won't take coins, but it will take bills.  If I insert a $1 bill, the hopper dispenses 4 quarters.  Basically I have a change machine now instead of a slot machine.  When I press the reset button looking for option 5 to set it to "5  1", I don't get an option 5.  I goes from the initial 0 when I press the test button, then a 00 on the next press, then to the input test mode on the 3rd press.  It skips the option 5.  I also have a Double Spin 10x Pay and when I press the test button on that machine, option "5  1" appears on the 3rd press.  But not on the machine that I'm working on.  Any ideas?  I think my problem is I just can't get the machine into credit mode, but I don't know how to get it to the point where I actually can get it into credit mode.

Thanks
Dean

Did you set your credit and hopper limits after the clear. Also, i beleive you can press and hold the cashout button for a few seconds to set the machine so money and wins got to credits instead of paying out all wins. I'm a little foggy on s+ setup anymore, but give it a try

Actually I got it working.  Found another post on the forum that helped.  Here's the 'secret':  Press the test button a few times until you see option 2 in the Winner Paid window.  NOW, turn the reset key until you see Option 5 in the Winner Paid window & 0 in the Credits window.  Use the Spin button to turn the 0 into a 1 or a 2 (2 preferred for me), then close the door.

Whew!
Thanks.

Did that solve your bills getting converted to change? Because there is another setting to address that too (to have bills always go to credit).

Actually yes.  I read that in addition to option 5 (change from a 0 to a 1, or 2), there's an option 8 that also needs to be set to a 1.
Turns out I had TWO problems:
1) Machine set in perpetual 'cash' mode causing bills-in to result in (instant) coins-out.  Maybe that was option 8 (???).  I thought the reason it wasn't accepting coins was also part of this problem.  Not quite....
2) The magnetic 'chute' on the back of the coin comparitor was stuck, so coins would drop straight thru.
Fixed the bill validator, put bills in and got machine credits.  YEA!  Then put a coin in and it dropped right thru.  BOO!  So I wanted to see if the coin comparitor was even active or not working at all.  Sooooo I tore up a napkin and stuffed it in behind the comparitor to move that deflector bracket back and out of the way.  Dropped a coin in and it worked!!!  YEA!.  So then I pulled the napkin out and .... it still worked!  So I'm fixed now, except I managed to burn out the lightbulb on the bill validator so it longer lights up. Oy Vey!  Also set page 0, optoin 2 to a 1 as well.  I LOVED the speaker reel-stop 'click' instead of the handle release solenoid, but having the reels make no music notes when they spin is just plain wrong.  So I put it back to reel-music and (sadly) solenoid reel-stop click.  Can't believe how much I've learned in just the last few days about this whole process.  Interestingly enough my Double Spin 5x Pay doesn't even HAVE a page 0 option 2.  Must be because when the last reel re-spins, it has a different musical tune.  If there were an option 2 and it was set to 0, that tune probably wouldn't play and it machine would look broken, what the last reel re-spinning silently and all....

Thanks for all your help(s).  This forum is really amazing!

Yes, that is option 8_1 - to always have bills go to credit vice 'making change'. FYI, depending on the SP chip, DIP switch 4 may also have to be used too.

On the twitchy coin comparator, you may try turning the sensitivity adjustment screw all the way CCW and then just a hair CW in case it is being borderline on acceptance.
