On the s2000 machine is there a wire that is hot [ 12-13 volts] when a win/hit/credit is in play and dead [0 volts] during regular play? I would like to power a topper with 12/13 volts and make it work only when a reward is given even if only for one credit period of time. If anyone knows where I can splice into I would appreciate it. Thanks Dave

none of 13V lines are set up like that.
There is optional bell that operates off 25V,
The connector for the bell is a 2 pin molex connector in harness in the area of the motherboard (it might be hanging loose)
has 2 orange wires and a yellow wire
The orange is the +25V to the bell and the yellow is the controlled negative or ground
I recommend that you use a 12V relay (with a resistor that matches the coil resistance) or a 24V relay to activate the topper lights.
Do not allow the bell circuit to sink more than a TTL or CMOS output can handle.

I need 13 volts only, the 25 would be to much. Any way to make this work?

Can you post a clear picture of this "wire" and the Molex it's in?
It's exact location and color?
You didn't even say if it's in the topbox or below in the main cabinet.
You know how many wires there are in an S2000?  rotflmao
Though Foster told you how different voltage lines work - it's good to know exactly what wire point you're talking about.

Remember, the more you can tell us - the better we can help you!

I did not say there was a 'wire or molex ' I asked IF there WAS a wire that had 13 volts on it when credits were being awarded and where this wire would be, be it in the lower or top cabinet!

Oh okay!
You could probably get the 25 volts down to 12 or 13 volts with a rectifier or transformer.
Or like Foster suggested - using a relay to separate the voltages but still have the ability to switch the lights off/on
without burning anything out.

I think what Foster was recommending to do is a good option.  He was saying to use a 24 vdc relay ,it would be nice if the coil resistance was close to that of the bell coil resistance.  then when the bell should ring, instead, it will close the relay.  you could hook up the +13vdc to go through the Normally open contacts of the relay to operate the topper.

Hope this helps

The relay sounds like the way to go. Thanks to all of you that have sent a reply.  What would that Resistance of the bell be and does the bell go off the whole duration of the awards/credit being racked up? Is this voltage [25 to bell/relay] consistent or intermittent during this time. I am trying to run a clock type dial that spins fast The motor is 12 volt. I only want the dials to spin when you hit a win on machine.  A second or two on a small hit, a lot time spinning on a big hit. My lights for the topper will be ran on a separate wire and be on all the time.  Is this " Bell wire on all s2000's? Thanks to all of you Dave

One thing I did forget to say the ground is pulsed as long as its counting credits.
That is according to information near the bell in the wiring diagram (says pulsed)
I would need to test and see if I Can get a value in cycles per second (hertz)
look for a 2 pin white connector hanging near the motherboard could be tied up near the wiring near the back of the reel shelf as well
there are 2 orange wires going to one pin and a yellow with stripe going to other pin
how you can tell you found the right one is put your meter on Ohm, continuity, diode test mode and touch one probe to the yellow wire and the other probe to the chassis (it should be open - bell is off)
then change to voltage move probe from yellow wire to the orange wires should read about 25V leave the other probe connected to the chassis.

the pulse is about 30 Hz
