Hi,

I'm new to this site so I am hoping someone can help me.  I just bought 2 IGT s2000 slot machines.  I have a triple stars and a triple diamond.  Is there something I can do to increase the payouts on these machines?  They are only for home use but I'd like better payouts.  Please let me know.

Thanks,

Lisa

The S2000 machines have 6 or 7 payback % options ranging from around 88% to 98%. They are programmed into the eproms on the machine and user selectable from the menu options which you can accessed from the white test button on the side of the MPU tray. You will need a keychip to do this though. Did you get a keychip with the machines?

Not sure what a keychip is. I got one key that opens the machine and another key that I think has something to do with reset the jackpot.  Sorry I just bought these last Thursday so I don't know much about them.

Sorry, a keychip is an eprom you put on the MPU or main board to put the machine in programming mode. The common ones, either will work, are a key31 or a key45. You will have to have one of the 2 if you want to change your payback percent. You CAN check the current setting by opening the door, pressing the white test button on the MPU and scanning through the keychip menu. There's a file on S2000 programming that's been posted on here before and I lost my copy of it. It's a little involved, but very simple if you've got the file to referance. Hopefully someone will chime in with that for you. Wish I could provide more help, but I'm doing this from my phone and it's a pain in the behind. Be that as it may, you'll definately need to get your hands on that keychip. A posting in the classifieds here on the site or contacting one of the sponsors on the homepage should get you quick results and you'll probably get your hands on a copy of the programming instructions about as fast. Where your machines are currently working and it's just an issue of wanting better payback, I wouldn't mess with anything till you've got both in front of you and a little time to do it

The pay percentage on my S2000 (hopefully all) is at menu 7.1.2.  So in your case to see that menu, do this: (Note: I am not an expert but was walked thru this method to check mine and thought I would return the favor).

Turn game on and wait for it to finish checks.
Open door and push the white button on the front of the CPU box (bottom left of the machine).  Dont close door all the way.
The screen now says "Accounting".  Push "Cash Out" which steps you up 1 menu (or "Change" that steps you down 1 menu) until you get to "7. Key Chip Configuration".
Push "Spin Reels" which selects that menu.  You are now at menu 7.1.
Hit "Spin Reels" again, then "Cash Out", then "Spin Reels" again.  It should show you menu 7.1.2 and something like ".25,  Game #1: LS013017 (98.03%)".
If you select a wrong menu, you can always go back 1 level by pushing "Play Max Credits".
On my Tabasco machine, I believe 98.3% is the highest payout possible but it still seems very stubborn at times.  Remember its the payout over a million spins (or something like that) so it will have hot and cold runs.

I hope this helps you.  I also re-posted what I have for part of the S2000 manual showing some options.  Good luck!
