Had an occasional over pay error and wasn't too worried but decided to look in to it...  Found the top screws holding what appears to be a brake of some sort loose on the coin hopper.  Tightened them up to find NOW I get an overpay by 1 every payout.  I have tried various positions of this brake or alignment arm to no avail... Every time get the overpay by one... Even after removing it completely..
I'm guessing it's simple but just don't have the sense to figure it out...  There is nothing to it, Motor, coin through sensor, and this brake guide gizmo.  I've got to be missing something...
Help... and thanks... Great site..

You're on the right track for sure.  Search for "hopper brake" using the search button at the very top of the screen and you should find some related posts.  I'll do some digging, too, to see what I can find.

The hopper is essentially the same as an IGT S+ hopper, and likely similar to other brands as well.

Edit:

Aah, here's a great one from Bunker:

Here's another good post with pictures explaining how it's supposed to work:

In a nutshell, once the hopper is told to stop, the spring is supposed to pull the brake forcing it to stop in its tracks (rather than it slowing to a stop causing an extra coin to get paid out).
