First of all I am new hear, and new to the slot machine world. I've got this problem with a "winning for dummies" slot machine. When I first got it would do nothing, show nothing on display. I took it apart and wiggled the the leftmost connector on the power supply and it appeared to start up, but did not. I ended up pulling power supply out and found 12-14 quarters behind the power supply. Took them out and it finally booted with a error code of 83fo, I happened to have the reset roms available put them in and did hard reset by holding down the 2 buttons, it came up clear and I put the regular game roms back in. Went through date setting and all that, fired it up and it froze on me. tried several things, sometimes it would boot sometimes not. I redid the safe ram reset, and still the same thing, sometimes boots, sometimes not. I did get it to take a 5 dollar bill and ad credits at one point, but now all it does is come up with a 8.0 followed by a 4 in the "win paid" window. Still sometimes it will not boot.
I am stuck at this point and do not have a manual. I cannot test the voltages as the mpu is buried when installed in a game. I need a little help and direction and would appreciate any help at this point. I'm thinking maybe the power supply is gone, but have no idea where to get one, or if even that is the problem. Thanks for any help. Todd Scott

For future reference, It turned out to be a error 80 code and I replaced the U18 and U20 personality chips and now it works good.

Glad you got it going TD!  applause
It's always good to have a known good spare set of chips for your machine in case of problems like this.
I think it's good that you provided a follow-up so that it may help someone else out!

Thanks for the "karma" hopefully it's good karma ; )

I always hate it when I find threads and they never post the solution. Run into this all the time. Todd
