I posted a couple weeks ago. S2000 Meter disconnected, closure MB. Machine was working fine. It has backlit reels but they were not lighting up, I noticed a missing harness from the I/O board. I have two other backlit S2000's that do light up. I took the harness off a working one, plugged it into the missing one, and the other end to the only connector that would accecpt it on the "back board". Then the machine gave the trouble codes. I put everything back, but still had codes. I swapped the I/O board on the side of the main board, and the I/O in the door. They work in the working machines, but not the trouble machine. Oh, and I did not hotswap anything. Been there done that.

Is my next step to swap the main board? (The large one that is verticle on the left side of the machine with the reset button) If so, do I have to swap any chips? I am in no mans land now. Anyone know where I can buy a new main board in Dallas/Ft. Worth? I would also like to change my payout. I have a 74%, a 97%, and a 77%. The 97% one is funner to play. Thanks guys...

There's a couple members in your area. Post a WTB in the classifieds and they'll find you. How do you have different percentave chips for an S2000? Are you using S+ chips in it? And have you bypassed the meters to make sure they aren't the cause of the problem?

I have not bypassed the meters. I am a major noob. I do not know what chips I have, but I can see the % settings in the menu. They are not able to change. Thanks for the advise on WTB. I will try that now.

Something else, I noticed when camparing all three main boards. The two working backlighting machines seem to have a dual layer main board. The top side half the size of the bottom. To me, this seems inadvisable to swap. I will go to WTB now...

Payback percent can only be change by inserting a keychip and changing ot in the menu options. Keychips and instructions are also available from member vendors here on the site. That daughter board on your other two machines is used for enhanced sound options and called a multimedia board. The card mounted to that board that looks like computer DDR ram is a sound simm
